Dean Stiles
-
Dean Stiles is excited to return to Eugene to assist with the vision of the Niles 108 Baseball Academy.
-
Dean just finished up a successful season with the Detroit Tigers Professional Development Department as pitching coach at High A West Michigan After 132-game season, the club finished one-half game out of the championship series. His pitching staff recorded one of the best ERA'S in team history and 3 of his starters and 5 members of his bullpen were promoted to the Double AA and Triple levels.
-
Stiles also spent time as member of the Los Angeles Dodgers pitching development department, culminating with a World Series championship in 2020. His affiliate teams in the historic Pioneer League shattered 27-year ERA and strikeout records.
-
Prior to his experience with the Dodgers, Stiles held pitching coach positions with the University of Oregon, Florida International and San Jose State University.
-
He also has experience as a head coach in the NWAAC at Lane Community College. During his collegiate coaching career, he has mentored 54 pitchers who have been taken in the MLB draft, including 1st round selections: Tyler Anderson, Colorado/San Francisco: Nate Pearson, Toronto and David Peterson, New York Mets. More than 20 of those pitchers were selected in the top 10 rounds.
-
He has also served in head coaching capacities at high schools in both Oregon and California and was instrumental in the development of Bend, Oregon's collegiate summer baseball program and former Western Baseball League independent team.
-
His commitment to youth baseball continues to be his number one goal. He is excited to share his wealth of knowledge he has gained throughout his career. Coach Stiles and Coach Niles have worked together since 1995 sharing the same passion for kids and baseball. Often times while working NCAA camps they discussed a vision to work together some day in this capacity. We are thrilled to have him on board with Niles 108.

Tommy Richardson
-
Having Tommy join the staff at Niles 108 has been a full circle experience. Kenny Niles coached Tommy when he was just 5 years old on a Bend recreational team. Niles also worked doing lessons 25 years ago for Tommy's father Jim who was a long time baseball pioneer in Central Oregon as the owner of the Bend Elks, Bend Bucks and the Field House. To say Tommy has spent his entire life being a baseball guy is a tremendous understatement. Tommy and Niles are connecting in a couple different baseball ventures and Bushnell University is extremely lucky to have hired him to lead the Beacon program that just reinstated baseball.
